ASTRĪDA – a pre-war design-inspired handle set
MFR KURZEME has developed a new door handle set, ASTRĪDA – a modern, technically refined solution based on a replica of 1930s functionalist design handles.
ASTRĪDA was created on the initiative of our clients during the reconstruction of a historic building Skolas Street, Riga. Project name The architect designed it in 1939 Aleksandrs Klinklāvs, and details that characterise the functional design of that period also play an essential role in the building's architecture.
ASTRĪDA is designed as improved replica of pre-war functional design handles. While retaining its characteristic shape and visual language, the construction has been technically improved to meet modern usage requirements.
This is a solution for those who want ironmongery suited to historical architecture and interiors, without losing the functionality and quality of a modern product.
ASTRĪDA is available in several solutions
So that the handles can be used with various door solutions, ASTRĪDA is available in several configurations:
- standard version - whether you open the cylinder mechanism;
- WC version – with a WC pan connector;
- R version – without cylinder mechanism aperture;
- fixed knob handle.
